erez lieberman is our celebrated employee of the month. he is the creator of the ishoe ... a very smart shoe which lieberman developed while working as an intern at NASA! his original use: testing balance on astronauts who often have difficulty after extended flights in zero gravity! the new potential use: elderly folks who may not be good candidates for dancing with the stars! designed to gather data with its nifty wires, it senses pressure patterns when people struggle with balance! AARP is thrilled because early detection of tipsy elderly people could improve the quality of life when life becomes hard enough as it is! kudos to erez! we make you our employee of the month! |
our august winner:
 nanci! a single mom, deaf and divorced, needed a job that she could take her kids to and not use her ears. that's a tough one, eh? she found a gig that had her driving up and down the famous sunset strip, once every night, with her 2 toddlers in pj's safely tucked into car seats strapped in her back seat. while they slept she did her job. she never had to get out of her car. she could do it when it was convenient to her schedule as long as it was after dark. didja guess yet? she was checking billboards to make sure that every sign on sunset blvd. was brightly lit with no bulbs burned out....no trees blocking the signage and no graffiti on 'em. nice! which is why we honor her and she wins our very special prize of un-employee of the month.  |

peter jones and theo paphitis for dreaming this one up. the creators of dragon's den are going to sell tours of london's underground SEWERS. brilliant, eh? we tip our hats to them for thinking up new ways to exploit london's waterways in a sort of ed-norton-in-the-honeymooners sort of way! anchors away, maties! we honor peter and theo and they win our very special prize of employee(s) of the month and next time someone says to me 'think outside the box' i will correct him/her and say the latest, hippest expression is 'think inside the sewers'. by the way, this photo is a spoof of peter and theo done by harry enfield and paul whitehouse from their british sketch-comedy show. and for those of you who don't know, dragon's den is the ultimate smack-down in vying for money for entrepreneurial ventures! so there! :) |
our october winner:
john halko of the comfort lounge is our celebrated employee of the month. although he's an entrepreneur and not technically an employee, we think his ingenuity of selling pre-paid meals when he needed to raise the final chunk of money for his restaurant is brilliant! he sold those 'comfort dollars' to the tune of 10k where people who bought his ginormous gift cards, received 12k worth of meals in return! a 20% profit for his customers ... capital for his restaurant and some forward-thinking that we applaud! let us know how tasty that 20% is when you eat your profits at johns new restaurant. check the link for more information! and iget2work nation, Please email me if you wish to be considered for our next employee of the month or if you know someone who should.
